GERANIUM

Geranium_palmatum_1.jpg (10258 bytes) - palmatum. Flowers from early summer onwards. Perhaps the most exotic of the hardy geraniums; sprays of deepest pink flowers and glossy, divided foliage. Hardy. Prefers full sun, in rich soil. Likes a sheltered position. 3ft

- maderense. Flowers from early summer onwards producing a mass of magenta pink flowers, will eventually grow a small trunk. Not as hardy as palmatum but more spectacular in flower, plants need some protection when small and in very cold weather - a layer of fleece seems to do the trick on nights threatening a hard frost.
